Although home to more than 11 million people, Cuban culture has been shrouded in mystery to most North Americans because of prolonged economic and political strain between the United States and Cuba. The Care for Cuba program pulls back the curtains on this Caribbean culture and gives volunteers a clear look at the beauties, struggles, and determination of the Cuban people.

The Kingdom of Bhutan is nestled high in the Himalayas between China and India. Its storied history, unique culture, and pristine environment are inextricably linked, and make it one of the few destinations left on Earth where people and nature exist in harmony.1

The Nepal program offered by Globe Aware is in Kathmandu, the bustling capital city. Your busy itinerary will encompass immersing yourself in Nepali culture, discovering the beauty of nature, and participating in school volunteering activities.

Zomba District, our home base, represents a place of dreams, hopes and opportunities. Zomba District Council, together with various development partners, aims to provide an enabling environment for men, women, girls and boys to realize their potential and meet their social and economic endeavours.

Although some of the friendliest and happiest people you'll ever meet, the Ghanaians have limited access to modern tools in their society and consequently often face the challenge of living in unsanitary conditions. By volunteering on this program, you could have the opportunity to change lives in a whole village by building systems to bring them clean water.

The hill tribe people live in remote areas scattered across Northern Thailand with little or no access to education. Many fled from conflict in Myanmar or other surrounding countries. This lack of education makes the hill tribe children prone to poverty and vulnerable to exploitation. At this program location, we are working with 350-400 rural communities that cross to Sub Mekong region countries.

Kenya is stepping into the future. You can help with this process by volunteering in one of the many projects available in the town of Muhoroni, which lies 30 kilometers to the east of Kisumu city. It is mostly inhabited by the Luo tribe with a population of around 120,000 people almost entirely depending on subsistence farming (though there are 3 sugar factories). The people of Muhoroni are always warm and welcoming and the smiles on their faces tell it all. Muhoroni has a warm weather of about 25 Celsius all year round.
