Dine Tuy

Dine Tuy is a Siem Riep native, a graduate of The Ecole D’Hotellerie at Tourisme Paul Dubrule, and has worked in the hospitality industry in Cambodia and Thailand for the last 20 years. Dine (pronounced Deenay) speaks fluent English, French and Japanese. He first worked with Globe Aware volunteers in September 2006, and after training with Prin Sophanit, became Globe Aware Cambodia Coordinator in December 2007. In his spare time, Dine also runs an internet cafe and is a postman. He has a young son. Dine is especially loved by our volunteers and we are grateful to have him as part of your team.

"Dear Dine -- It will be very difficult to find any words that could approximate the extreme appreciation we have for you. You are an incredibly special, talented, kind, creative, fun and intelligent person. It was an honor to get know you and spend such an amazing week with you. I don't believe anyone could have done a better job of guiding our group than you. Our experience was once in a lifetime, thanks to you. We will forever remember your extremely fine character and you will be a role model for us for the rest of our lives. The greatest gift on our trip was our getting to know you and all the people you introduced us to. Many blessings to you Dine." Mangos - Karen, Ben, Quentin and Stefan, December 2012 - January 2013

I felt like our guide, Dine, was truly invested in the community and helped us to feel part of the community. By far, the best part of this trip was having Dine as our guide. It was so nice to have a local person who was so dedicated to the project. He could answer any question we had about the culture and introduce us to the people and the culture in a natural way. Dine's dedication to his community humbled me in a way I never expected. He worked nonstop all day helping us to help his community. Dine's energy, optimism and spirit were unstoppable." - Volunteer, March 2012

"Dine is an amazing coordinator!" - Lisa Bond, March 2012

"Dine obviously lives for this work and I could not imagine a more wonderful experience, honestly He is amazing and has an energy I have never experienced. He is the reason we all felt we were honestly making a difference in people's lives, because he does this all day every day (so we knew the work would continue long after we were there). I honestly cannot express how meaningful and life-changing this experience was. I cannot imagine a better coordinator than Dine, who is so passionate in helping others." - Brandy Linnenkohl, March 2012

"Our program coordinator was amazing. He really made the trip what it was and the experience 10x better. He truly cares for his country and it was very inspiring to see." - Emilee Schwarze, March 2012

"Our coordinator, Dine, was instrumental in helping us dig deep into the local culture. He really made the trip what it was. He is so deeply tied to the Siem Reap area and passionate about the projects, that it made it easy to jump into what we were doing. His energy was infectious. He showed us a lot that we clearly would never have found on our own and took us below the surface of the culture. In addition, we had a lot of fun and laughs! I look forward to working with Globe Aware in the future, but know that it would be tough for anyone to give us a better experience than what Dine provided." - Ky Cooksey, March 2012

"I really appreciated how Dine made a point of showing us first-hand the people we were helping through our program fees, from the woman who made bracelets outside Angkor Wat to the community in the countryside where we helped dig a hole for the well. Dine was a great guide and really helped us better understand the history and the religious symbolism at the temples." - Michelle Costa, March 2012

"Even though we had a busy schedule, our trip coordinator made sure we had enough free time to rest and recharge. Because the trip coordinator is a native Cambodian, he was able to show us the vast cuisine Cambodia has to offer. Anything we did not know, our coordinator would gladly explain." - Kaing Lao, January 2011

"Dine made excellent choices for the lunch and evening meals. I couldn't have asked for better. Dine is just about one of the finest young men I have had the opportunity to meet. His time management and meal choices were very well thought out. Dine Tuy is truly a gem. He was unfailingly polite, helpful and courteous. His presence always made me feel comfortable. I just can't say enough good things about Dine. Having Dine as my coordinator made all the difference in the world. He is completely professional and a joy to be with. His advice and guidance were immeasurable. He explained so much to me about the culture and history of Cambodia. This guy is really a keeper. I could go on - and on." - Irene Battle, December 2010

"Dine was a truly wonderful guide!" - Valerie Larenne, October 2010

"Dine was a fantastic coordinator and was very helpful, made us feel at ease and certainly made it clear that he was there for us at any time. Nice job, Dine!" - Michael Kent, September 2010
